  The project addresses construction of a new safe and secure parking infrastructure for trucks located on the Slovenian A1 motorway in sections no. 37 Slovenska Bistrica – Slovenske Konjice and no. 38 Slovenske Konjice – Dramlje. The A1 motorway is part of the Baltic-Adriatic and Mediterranean Core Network Corridors.
  
  The main objective of the project is to develop a new safe and secure trucks parking area (SSTPA) in accordance with Commission Delegated Regulation 2022/1012. To achieve the mentioned objective, the project covers the construction of a new SSTPA on approximately 25,000 m2 of land with 149 parking spaces for heavy goods vehicles. The project will bring multiple benefits in terms of time savings, accident reduction, theft reductions, noise reduction, as well as reductions of emissions of air-borne pollutants and green-house gases. The major part of the mentioned benefits will be achieved through a reduction of the average driving distance to find a parking space for heavy goods vehicles by an estimated 57 km.
  
  The SSTPA will have the technical parameters and provide the level of services corresponding to the silver level EU parking standard.
